We are an extraordinary creation. We are gifted with a tool called mind that can perform wonders. Every man creates a world of virtue or vice, pleasure or pain out of his own mind. When we learn something more about human mechanism and particularly the mind, which controls it – there is no limit to the heights we can climb.
No scientific laboratory in the world is equivalent to the laboratory we have within ourselves.
The capacity of human mind is unimaginable. It can enable us to acquire riches, better health and above all happiness. Most of us seldom realize it. As Russel Conwell says in his book ‘Acres of Diamonds’, “The human beings are constantly searching elsewhere for the very things they have at hand.”
Master The Mind
Our life depends mostly on the nature of our minds. It is the power of mind, which makes some people wise and some people otherwise. The power of mind can make us climb to great heights or can make us descend to the depths of despair. It is like the power of water, which when uncontrolled can wipe out cities. The same power of water when controlled in a man made dam, can make land productive apart from producing electricity. So we should control our minds and concentrate on what is righteous.
Mind Makes Man Achieve
It is said whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve. We can make and unmake our outer conditions by our thoughts and feelings. Thoughts arise from our mind. How do these thoughts develop? They are the culmination of our inputs through our senses. By the unique gift we have to discriminate good from bad, we should prevent the destructive stimulus from getting into our system. And we should feed in the constructive forces to carry on our life in the right direction.
We have ample life examples to illustrate from the history how people by sheer mind power, though they lacked the necessary money power and muscle power accomplished astounding feats. Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Alwa Edison, Gadhiji and Mother Teresa are some to mention a few.
Conscious Vs Subconscious Mind
Our mind is divisible into two parts – the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind is the master and the subconscious mind is the servant. If the conscious mind holds on to a certain thought, the subconscious mind takes it as an instruction and proceeds to manifest into the being of our affairs. The conscious mind can search for facts on which to build its reasoning but the subconscious mind does its reasoning exclusively with the thoughts handed down by the conscious mind whether they are facts or not. So if you feed a constructive thought, you are giving a definite instruction to work positively.
Don’t Fall Prey To Mind Traps
Though we have inherited this mind power as a gift, still we get entangled in the worldly doubts and fears, which throw a veil on it. Certain limitations which we force on ourselves like “I can’t change”, “There is no use in trying”, “I am unfit” etc. make the mind power rest without producing any action. Relax your physical self and feed in positive affirmations to break the cocoon and emerge as a beautiful butterfly.
Mind Mends The Way
Napolean Hill is his book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ says that more gold has been mined from the minds of men than from the earth. What you sow you reap. Success comes to those who are success conscious. Fortune gravitates to the man whose mind is prepared to attract them, just as surely as water gravitates to the ocean. The human mind is constantly attracting vibrations, which harmonize with that which dominates the mind. Any thought, idea, plan or purpose, which one holds in one’s mind, attracts a host of relatives, and adds their relatives to its own force and grows until it becomes the dominating and motivating master of the individual in whose mind it has been housed. Somewhere in your make up there lies sleeping the seed of achievement which if roused and put into action would carry you to heights such as you may never have hoped to attain.
Mind The Wonderful Gift
This great mind power is subject to our command. Lets make use of it. Possessing a fine motorcar is not enough. It will not run by itself. We have to drive it. So also we must make proper commands to make our minds function for us. Be specific and crystallize in your mind what you want to accomplish and direct it in the proper channel.
We are a mind with a body and not a body with a mind. The mind power can make us master our environment and ourselves. It is also a form of energy. It is the medium through which prayer may be transmitted to the source. So apart from making us understand ourselves, understand about others and understand the laws of nature, it also makes us recognize the Supreme power. What a wonderful gift we have! Let’s make use of its power. The sculpture is within the rock; only the carving makes the difference. Let’s carve a sculpture of peace and happiness, which is within us by making use of the wonderful tool called mind.
