The blossom has been called the queen of flowers, so it is not surprising that the rose-otto oil was probably the first flower essense ever distiled. its sensuous aroma and rich bouquet of ingredients give rose-otto oil a broad array of healing properties.
The oil fights many bacteria and viruses, promotes the healing of wounds and reduces inflammation. It is a natural cleanser for acne, an aid in menstrual complaints, calms the nerves and relieves strained and puffy eyes.
The therapeutic effects of rose otto oil is extremely complex. It contains more than 400 known ingredients. It is also one of the most expensive oils today. It originates from Bulgaria, and its production is a very tedious process. About thirty flowers are picked by hand in the mornings, these thirty flowers make one drop of oil. In fact, more than two tons of roses must be distilled to make a single pound of this essential oil.
To use rose-otto oil for promoting well being is quite simple. The best is in a simmer pot. Use 2 drops of rose otto oil with 1 drop of lavender oil to recieve the calming blend of harmony and well being. This is also quite safe to use in a child's room. It is also used to treat many psychological conditions including anxiety, stress and depression.
To heal wound, dilute rose-otto oil and then apply to irritated areas of the skin. This oil works particularly well as a treatment for shingles. For acne problems, again you dilute it and then rub gently onto troubled areas. To aid in menstrual complaints, add four drops of rose-otto oil to 7 tbsp. of a base oil, such as jojoba oil and rub into sore area, external not internal, or take a relaxing bath with it by mixing three drops of the oil in 3 1/2 tbsp. of heavy cream and add to bathwater. For those puffy and strained eyes, soak 2 gauze pads in diluted rose-otto oil and squeeze gently. Lie down and rest the compresses on eyelids for 20 minutes.
Avoid rose-otto oil during pregnancy. The muscle relaxing effects have been known to induce premature labors.
